Sustainable Communities
MAB understands that good master planning involves both flexibility and firm commitment to a long-term vision, in order to deliver a successful mixed-use and sustainable community. The creation of University Hill involved several years of collaborative master planning and ideas from a range of experts and stakeholders. The project incorporates retail, residential, commercial, industrial, and environmental precincts, and has been acknowledged by the property and planning sectors for its innovative approach to planning and delivery.
Job Creation
A key goal underpinning the planning of University Hill has been the generation of employment, particularly new economy jobs.
Achieving efficient job creation in the precinct involves the overlapping of complementary precincts, each with core land use and employment generating roles. University Hill has to date delivered 3,000 new jobs in the City of Whittlesea, with a high proportion of white collar employment. At completion, the precinct is projected to account for the creation of 4,000 new jobs.
Workers and residents alike enjoy the benefit of the health and wellbeing aspects of University Hill.
